Job Description: CNC Operator

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Department: Production

Summary Statement

Ensures production targets are met as per plan as given by the supervisor.

Job Duties

• Ensures that materials are available and tools are properly set to meet the production schedule
• Ensures that the machine is in proper working order at the beginning of his shift and reports promptly any problem
• Responsible for quality and quantity of production as per technical specifications
• Consults with the production supervisor if schedule cannot be met
• Ensures proper reporting of activities and production
• Follows environmental and safety regulations as per company’s procedures
• Ensures cleanliness of the machine and the adjacent working area
• Leaves the machine ready and clean for the following shift
• Other unlisted activities will be assigned

Experiential Requirements

• Should have 3 years of progressive experience with CNC machines used in steel fabrication preferably related to lattice transmission towers or similar product
• Working safely is paramount and the most qualified candidate will have a history of working safe. Preference will be given to those with unexpired safety training certifications

Educational, Professional, and Technical Requirements

• Requires technical experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of manufacturing methods and techniques.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Exceptional collaboration skills along with communication, problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations
• Computer literacy is required as it relates to CNC applications

Physical Requirements of the Job

• Ability to read and write English fluently with demonstrated proficiency in grammar
• Lift up to 50 pounds throughout the work shift

Work Environment

• Work takes place in a manufacturing plant and an office environment
